On Wednesday 19th June, the team at Hermitage Dental Practice updated our annual CPR, AED and Medical Emergency training.
These skills are essential to keeping our patients and staff members safe.
A big thank you to Sarah at SO training for keeping us updated with the latest guidelines.
We covered the following on the day:
Gain practical skills and use role play including adult, and child manikins for management of medical emergencies, including cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and use of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED)
Revise, refresh and update skills and provide candidates with the capability to deal with a medical emergency within the Dental Practice, including choking and use of recovery position
List, and know how to use, emergency equipment, including oxygen and drugs that should be used in a Dental Practice
To revise and refresh skills in recognising and dealing with emergencies such as: Seizures, Anaphylactic shock, Asthma attack, Heart attack, Angina, Hypoglycaemic attack, Diabetic emergencies and Stroke
Prevent skill fade in the skills listed above
