Dental emergencies can happen unexpectedly, and when they do, it’s important to receive prompt care. At Hermitage Dental Practice, we always aim to see patients experiencing urgent dental problems as quickly as possible to relieve pain and prevent the issue from becoming more serious.
If you are experiencing severe toothache, swelling, infection, trauma to the teeth or a damaged tooth, please contact the practice as soon as possible so our team can advise you and arrange an emergency appointment where appropriate.

Common Dental Emergencies.
Dental emergencies can take many forms, but some of the most common situations include severe or persistent toothache, dental infections or swelling, broken or chipped teeth, lost fillings or crowns, and trauma to the mouth or teeth. If you are unsure whether your situation requires urgent care, our team will be happy to advise you over the phone and guide you on the next steps.

If you are a private patient or new patient and require urgent dental care, please contact us at 8:30am when our phone lines open. We will always do our best to see you within 24 hours where possible.

Our emergency appointment fee is £125, which covers your consultation and assessment so we can identify the cause of your discomfort and recommend the most appropriate treatment.

If further treatment is required, such as a filling, extraction or root canal treatment, this will be explained to you clearly before proceeding and additional fees may apply.
Emergency Appointments for Non-Members.
If your child is registered at Hermitage Dental Practice as an NHS patient, please call the practice at 8:30am and we will endeavour to arrange an appointment within 24 hours.

For out-of-hours NHS dental emergencies, please contact NHS 111 for further advice and assistance.
