Replacing missing teeth with Dental Implants.

What is a Dental Implant.
A dental implant is a small titanium post that is placed into the jawbone to act as an artificial tooth root. Once in position, the implant provides a secure foundation for a replacement tooth such as a crown, bridge or denture.

The replacement tooth is carefully designed to match the shape and colour of your natural teeth, creating a seamless and natural-looking result. Because implants are fixed securely in the jawbone, they feel stable and function much like natural teeth.

Dental implants can be used to replace:

A single missing tooth
Several missing teeth
Multiple teeth using implant-supported bridges
Full arches of missing teeth using implant-supported restorations
The implant is carefully placed into the jawbone during a minor surgical procedure. Over the following months, the implant gradually integrates with the surrounding bone in a process known as osseointegration.
This healing period usually takes between three and six months. Once the implant has fully integrated with the bone, a custom-made crown or restoration is attached to complete the treatment.
Because the implant is anchored within the bone, it provides excellent stability and durability, allowing you to enjoy normal everyday activities such as eating and speaking with confidence.
How they work.

Dental implants offer several advantages compared to other tooth replacement options. They are designed to look and feel like natural teeth, helping to restore both your smile and your confidence.

Implants also help preserve the underlying jawbone by stimulating the bone in a similar way to natural tooth roots. This can help maintain facial structure and prevent the bone loss that often occurs after teeth are lost.

With good oral hygiene and regular dental care, implants can provide a long-lasting solution for missing teeth.

If you are considering dental implants, our Treatment Co-ordinators will be happy to guide you through the process and discuss whether implant treatment is the right option for you.
